BAD COP - NO DONUT!

As bikers, we always make headlines on virtually every news source available. When we do good, nobody hears about it. When we do bad, the world knows about it!

So what about those who are in a position to "Serve and Protect" Who polices the police?

This is not a smear campaign to expose cops who are being charged, nor is it an anti-cop section. The purpose here is to show you that more often than not, the stories made public on cops being charged under various offences rarely and seldomly make headlines. Why is that? Of interest, for those who follow these kinds of stories, the media have a unique habit in printing any bad-cop related story in weekend editions of the newspapers. Why? Well, most people don't bother reading the weekend paper. Circulation and readership takes place more frequently while at work in the office and NOT ON THE WEEKEND! You'll also notice you'll RARELY see a negative cop story appear on the front page of a newspaper unless it's a HUGE charge. Most "incidents" are discreetly tucked away in the middle of the paper where one is bound to miss it altogether.

I am NOT anti-cop! What I am "anti" of is how the playing field is NOT even! For example, if a Joe Public is caught with say a pound of weed, the media claim a street value of say $1500. However, if and when a cop is charged with a pound of weed, the street value is printed as $500. Hmm.... I guess "membership" does have it's privileges doesn't it? ;)

Now before you jump all over me here, like I said in the beginning of this website's creation, I will be pissing some people off! If you don't care for this section, don't click on it.

Fair is fair and I know not all cops are bad or dirty. The point I'm attempting to make is neither are all bikers bad or dirty either!

So, in keeping everything status-quo, this section will expose both COPS and BIKERS in Newfoundland who are or have been charged or under investigation as of May 31st, 2008.

Let's see who makes the bigger and most headlines shall we?

If you have a Newfoundland news story (must have been printed in a newspaper) please send me them for publication.

BAY ROBERTS BIKERS BEWARE!

I had the opportunity to meet a great couple today who relayed a story to me this afternoon which made me wonder if all us "cruiser" style bikers will be in for a rough summer this year. Seems there's a young lady cop (RCMP) who's on a power trip with her shiny new badge and boots!

Long story short, the gentleman in question was parked taking up some space in the handicap parking spot in front of Tim Horton's in Bay Roberts. Nothing out of the ordinary really seeing how the place is usually jammed with bikes at that given spot and bikes are sometimes overflowing into the handicap spot. True, regardless it is a handicap spot and one shouldn't park in the designated areas but this is where this little lady cop got off on a power trip.

Buddy sees the cop writing a ticket and approaches her to tell her that he was stuck in the line up and had been keeping an eye out in the event someone wanted the spot as he would have moved it away out of the spot. While writing up his fine, he commented to her that she was actually parked in the paralel handicap parking spot herself and therefore she too was parked illegaly. She made a smart assed comment that she's a cop and can and will park wherever she feels like. Hmmmm...

So today who should we see riding along (in her civilian attire) with a crew of crotch-rocket types? Yep, missus power tripper! She kept eyeballing us "older" guys as if to portray a "don't mess with me" attitude. Pfft!

So, as she hops on the back of her what I'll assume was her boyfriend's bike, the other guys popped a couple of wheelies down the main street when they left. I wonder if she'll ticket them for careless driving? Yeah right!

What does this all mean in the bigger picture? It likely means that us cruiser guys/gals will likely be subjected to this power hungry, fresh out of police college, rookie looking to make a name for herself. She doesn't have to wait too long however as a few of us already have a name for her behaviour and it ain't witch!

Yes the dude was parked illegally but who hasn't parked illegally from time to time? Could she have given a warning? Absolutely considering he was a mere few feet away from the bike!

Should be an interesting summer indeed!

Internal Investigation At Corner Brook RNC June 3, 2008 The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary isn't releasing many details, but confirm an internal investigation is underway into an alleged incident of misconduct by a police officer in Corner Brook.

The RNC's Chief Joe Browne explained the circumstances surrounding the involvement of the Ontario Provincial Police in an internal investigation of an incident in the Corner Brook Division.

On Friday afternoon, May 16th an alleged incident of misconduct was reported to the Chief. Within hours he had decided to utilize the MOU the RNC has with the OPP and have them investigate. They arrived the following Wednesday and stayed for almost three days conducting an investigation. Chief Browne could not release any details of the complaint or the names of the individuals involved but indicated that, by mutual agreement, a senior officer in Corner Brook was on leave and the complainant was still at work. The Chief stated that the division was now being supervised by the only other senior officer in the Corner Brook Division, Inspector Cal Barrett.

The OPP officers return next week to wrap up the investigation then prepare and submit the final report. Chief Browne says it should be in his hands within a month and once he receives it, he will decide on whether or not to reveal the details of the complaint.
