Anniversary of the Battle of the Beaumont-Hamel
July 1st, 2008
This years Ride & Wreath Laying Ceremony will mark the 92nd Anniversary of the Battle of the Beaumont Hamel where many brave Newfoundlanders paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
The ride this year will also be a 50/50 run again & like all of our rides, it is open to all who would like to join in
Not only will we be paying our respects to those brave soldiers, but also helping to raise funds for a worthy cause.
Meet time: 1:30 at the Tim Horton’s Parking Lot in Paradise
The first wreath to be laid this year will be at the Caribou Monument in Bowering Park then on to Spaniard’s Bay to lay our second wreath & finishing up in Carbonear to draw the winner of the 50/50 pot.
All funds raided on this run will go to help with the cost of erecting a new monument in C.B.S. to recognize all those who have strived to help keep us safe “Military, Firefighters & Police Personel."
This new Monument is titled "The Monument of Honour" So come join us on this run as we not only pay respect to those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom & help to raise funds for a worthy cause, but also have a good ride in the process.
